Chipotle is such a great flavor. Although quite spicy, the smokiness of it really adds a dimension you can't get with other "hot" spices. Paired with the sweetness of orange juice, the combination works so well over a summery salad.

This dressing only uses 5 "pantry ingredients." It's not a true 10 ingredients or less recipe because the chipotles themselves have about ten ingredients when you buy a can.

Chipotle Orange Dressing

Real Food Simple

Ingredients

  • 1 chipotle pepper in sauce (this has the best ingredients I have found so far)
  • Juice of 2 oranges
  • 1/4 cup oil - light in taste
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Using a food processor, place all ingredients in and pulse until combined.
  2. You can also use an immersion blender (my absolute favorite new kitchen tool) and put all the ingredients in a mason jar (or similar) and blend.
  3. If you have neither of those pieces of equipment, simply mince the chipotle pepper first and then combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk.
Yield: 3/4 cup

Dress it up

This dressing tastes great with a salad made with lettuce, cabbage, avocados, and mango. Simple and delicious.
