I will be doing a new series on real food simple called nutrition basics. The series will be about simple concepts in nutrition education including things like

  • nutrients
  • vitamins & minerals
  • carbohydrates fats and protein
  • digestions times
  • reading food labels
  • understanding ingredients list
  • and more

There is a lot of information about nutrition and it can get very confusing. My hope with the series is to simplify nutrition and bring it back to the basics. Instead of trying to come in halfway and understand the different concepts, labels, marketing, etc. you can start at the beginning and learn the basics information you need to eat healthier. 

These posts will not be complicated, scientific posts that make you feel like you are back at school in a lecture. There is plenty of information out there for those looking for in depth nutrition knowledge.

These posts are for those who want to know enough to eat healthy, without having to get a degree in nutrition. I already did that for the sole purpose of helping those who don't want to do that. 

Isn't that why we have different degrees? So that we can help each other navigate through all the information we are subjected to on a daily basis.
