This is a simple dressing you can make from avocados that are very ripe. Even if the avocados have started to turn a bit brown, that's okay. Since they will be mashed and pureed into this dressing, you don't need that vibrant green color.
I strive to make recipes that use real food and have few ingredients. My goal is 10 ingredients or under. Although some would count and say it only has 5 ingredients, the taco seasoning itself has about ten. So I could say that it only has 5 "pantry ingredients"*
And if you make homemade taco seasoning where you know all the ingredients that went into making it, this is still a great real food recipe.
1 ripe avocado
1/4 cup lime juice
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1 Tbsp Dyno-moms Taco seasoning mix
1 tsp honey
Mix all ingredients in a bowl with a whisk until you achieve a creamy consistency. It will be very liquidy at first, but keep going and it will eventually emulsify.
*I sometimes call ingredients that have ingredients, components. Then I was reading one of my favorite blogs Pinch of Yum, and she called the ingredients "pantry ingredients." I think that sounds so much nicer than components, so I may start using it. But all the credit goes to her!
